New Year, New Opportunities

Today has been the first uni day of 2011. I've been briefed on what opportunities I need to be thinking about and working towards the end of the academic year.

January and February are going to be working on competitions for Fujifilm and DNAD.

March is Format Festival at Derby QUAD.

and continually working towards ideas for the Free Range exhibition at Truman Brewery in June.

My intention for this year is to show my work to more people and think about where I want my photography to go, where it is best used and how I can put my work to use.

We discussed our thoughts on what style we felt our work is and the sort of things that interest us and inspire our work. It feels good to think about this early on, the feedback that I got was that my work is experimental documentation. Where does this fit in?

I like playing around with other forms of media and materials and while my final piece of work always equates to a photograph I enjoy creating things just to photograph them.

Everything is very technical and the introduction of 3D television, touchscreens and the sence that everybody is being connected electronically facinates me

I am inspired and drawn to subjects that I don't know about. Which sounds like I dont know what I'm interested in, but I enjoy learning and seeking information, I find peoples stories intriging. I feel that photography helps me in a way make sence of things.
